Job Description
KUNR is recruiting for a full time Accountant. KUNR is a public radio station that has the responsibility to the public to remain compliant with all FCC regulations and financial matters. This position will provide high-level financial reporting to the leadership of UNR. As a self-funded organization affiliated with UNR, this position must maintain a clear understanding of KUNR’s financial position, including revenues and expenses. As a state-owned university non-profit radio station that seeks grants and public funding, it is imperative that this position ensures compliance with various laws and regulations, establishes best practices and internal controls to minimize risks, and align financial resources with KUNR’s strategic goals. This position will manage the accounting functions and provide high-level accounting services to ensure compliance on multiple levels, including grant requirements from multiple agencies.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and two years of related experience; OR a Master’s Degree in Accounting and one year of related experience. Related Experience: Budgeting experience, financial reporting, fiscal development, GAAP and GASB familiarity.
