Station Management reserves the right to hire within the minimum and maximum deadlines.
The News Photographer/Editor has general responsibility of videotaping news stories, operating live equipment and editing video for newscasts and specials.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:
Basic knowledge of journalism ethics, libel and slander laws.Understanding of basic newsroom operations. Ability to operate ENG photography and editing equipment. Ability to operate newsroom computer system. Ability to communicate effectively with the public and coworkers. Familiar with social media, multi-platform journalism and EDIUS 6 editing software.
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
College degree in journalism or related field or equivalent job experience.
OTHER:
Willing to reside within 30 minutes of station • Available for varying work schedules due to temporary or permanent schedule changes, or breaking news coverage (including weekends, overnights and out-of-town assignments). Salary based on experience.
