MORE Producer

The Producer: Each day, the producer creates a show based on daily, developing and trending stories with an emphasis on local Las Vegas lifestyle and interests. The producer also interacts with station sales department for certain sponsored segments in the MORE broadcast. The producer writes or assigns and formats all stories, and coordinates and supervises editorial content, news-gathering and production of daily content. The producer is responsible for executing the creative vision of each show individually while maintaining established show branding. The creative vision includes elements such as writing, graphics, animation, specialty programming, themes, teases, social media and promos…as examples. The producer must be skilled at ‘boothing’ a live newscast; be able to work with others to execute any creative vision and production elements, as well as quickly adapt and lead the entire team when required, i.e., breaking news, technical difficulties or necessary late changes. This position requires the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining leadership, creativity, and composure. These skills will contribute to a daily compelling show that is informative, entertaining, engaging, unique and branded with the broad goal of increasing viewership.

Two years producing newscasts or daily episodic live programs for a television or cable station. 

Must have line producing experience with script writing and editorial experience preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

INews or similar newscast management program.

Must have in-depth knowledge of entertainment, pop-culture and lifestyle trends and daily developments.

Ability to work a flexible work schedule and work as both leader and team member.

Advanced understanding of show presentation, both tactically and strategically.

A thorough understanding of the show’s vision, and the ability to articulate and lead team members in daily execution. 

Excellent writing and graphics skills; ability to provide an interesting and substantive product.

Must be results oriented.

Ability to focus on coordination of daily and long-range segments from first contact to on-air product.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a creative fast paced environment.

Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure.

Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.

Discovers, explores, researches, pitches, stories and other content, prepares the daily show rundown, writes and edits content and supervises show elements. Prepares interview segments and sponsored sales segments as assigned. Selects graphics and pre-production elements.  Proof reads scripts.  Line Produces show. Works closely with on-air talent, EP, and sales integration.   


Collaborates with other departments as needed, i.e., news, sales and programming departments, reporters and photographers to determine the content of shows.  Participates in story planning meetings. Works with others to coordinate production requirements.


Cultivates and develops contacts and sources in the entertainment industry and local entertainment scene.


Times the show while in production, meets all requirements of content and off-times.


Conceptualizes innovative graphic and pre-production elements.  Monitors and works to constantly improve and evolve the look and execution of program.


Coordinates with creative services and social media departments to develop effective promotions and for upcoming shows and help maintain an effective social media presence.


Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.


Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
